How to disable notifications for EmailSecurity or Content Filtering in GFI MailEssentials

Answer

There is not option to disable/enable all notifications on the software at once. To disable all notifications for these filters and rules:

  1. Open the MailEssentials configuration
  2. Navigate to the Content Filtering 
  3. In the Content Filtering sections make sure to click on the individual rule for which that you wish to adjust the Notification settings Note: Make sure you hit Apply after each adjustment to a policy
  • Keyword Filtering > select each policy enable and open them by clicking the hyperlink > Navigate to the Actions tab > Under Notification options > Disable the accounts you would like to disable from notifications
  • Attachment Filtering >select each policy enable and open them by clicking the hyperlink > Navigate to the Actions tab > Under Notification options > Disable the accounts you would like to disable from notifications
  • Decompression Engine  >select each policy enable and open them by clicking the hyperlink > Navigate to the Actions tab > Under Notification options > Disable the accounts you would like to disable from notifications
  • Advanced Content Filtering > select each policy enable and open them by clicking the hyperlink > Navigate to the Actions tab > Under Notification options > Disable the accounts you would like to disable from notifications
  1. Navigate to the EmailSecurity section and expand the dropdown
  2. Locate and disable the rules from the rules below
  • Trojan & Executable > Actions > Notification options > disable the alerts that you wish to disable
  • Email Exploit EngineActions > Notification options > disable the alerts that you wish to disable
  1. Expand the Virus Scanning Engines and navigate through the 5 virus scanning engines
  • Vipre  > Actions > Notification options > disable the alerts that you wish to disable
  • BitDefender > Actions > Notification options > disable the alerts that you wish to disable
  • Kaspersky > Actions > Notification options > disable the alerts that you wish to disable
  • Avira > Actions > Notification options > disable the alerts that you wish to disable
  • McAfee > Actions > Notification options > disable the alerts that you wish to disable
