This article answers the query 'Which email formats can be imported into GFI Archiver?' and shares general information for email extraction on server-side and the client-side.

• GFI Archiver can only import RFC compliant emails formatted in standard text-based EML format.
  
  
• The emails are extracted as indicated below:
  • The server-side Import Export Tool (IET) can extract emails from Microsoft Exchange mailboxes or PST files.
  • The client-side Archive Assistant (an add-in for Microsoft Outlook) can extract emails from data sources available in Microsoft Outlook (for example PST files or Microsoft Exchange-, IMAP- or POP3 mailboxes).
