PROBLEM

GFI Archiver is counting more users than what is entered into the Archive Restrictions configuration. For example:
  • An inclusion list is configured
  • The environment contains 50 users in total
  • 10 users are added to the include list
  • 3 email addresses are added to the include list
  • GFI Archiver counts all 50 users towards the license

ENVIRONMENT

  • GFI Archiver
  • All supported environments

SOLUTION

  1. Ensure only users and/or groups are being used within the include list and no email addresses
  2. If any email addresses are in the list, remove any email address entries
  3. Wait 5 minutes or restart the GFI Archiver services and the correct number should be counted

CAUSE

When using email addresses in the restriction list the feature cannot be used to control the license count. This is by design.
