How to Identify

Certain policies will not been applied correctly. It may affect more than one policy, but mostly some policies will be working while others are not. Browse to ...GFI\WebMonitor\Data Open the FilterRules.xml file with notepad check the entries and try to find some invalid entries like: domains that start with a dot like: .domain.com domains that start with a star without the dot like *domain.com IPs that have a star like 192.168.17.* A comma in any part of the domain name of before it, like ,domain.com or domain,com

Workaround / Fix Details

Remove the invalid entries. Save the file. Restart the GFI Proxy service.
