PROBLEM

Outbound faxes in the format [FAX:number] stuck in the Sinkdrop folder as *.bad files.

ENVIRONMENT

• GFI FaxMaker
• all supported environments

SOLUTION

If GFI Faxmaker is not installed on the same machine as Microsoft Exchange server, Microsoft Outlook needs to be installed and configured with a valid working MAPI profile for the administrator.

CAUSE

GFI Faxmaker needs to convert emails from TNEF to MIME before it can interpret them. When the decoders do not work, TNEF2MIME.gfi_log.txt shows:
