Creating User Accounts in Kerio Connect

Overview

While creating user accounts locally, by mapping from a directory service, or with a template, it requires adding user details in the Administration interface. When editing or changing user details, such as Full, First, or Last name, the Contact information should be altered.

Newly-created and existing users have a set of built-in features, such as forwarding, groups, rights, quotas, etc.

Note: Your license limits the number of accounts you can create.

Preconditions

Access to the Kerio Connect administration console

Solution

Creating Local Accounts

  1. Go to Accounts > Users.

  2. Select a domain for the new account. All accounts must belong to a domain.

  3. Click Add > Add Local User. You may create and use a template for adding multiple users with similar settings.

  4. On the General tab, type a new username and password for the user. The domain may require a secure password.

Note: Usernames are not case-sensitive and cannot include spaces or special characters. For more information, refer to the password policy in Kerio Connect article.

  5. Click OK.

Full Name Change

In the case of a Full Name change for a user account in Webadmin, the new information does NOT repopulate the Contacts section in the Webmail. In this case, the contact card should be modified directly in the Webmail.

Note: Review the Editing Existing Contacts section of the article Creating Contacts in Kerio Connect Client for more information on this process.

If the First name and the Last name fields are filled in the Contact tab, as they are in the example below, Kerio Connect overwrites the Full name value and displays the Firstname and the Lastname information in Webmail.
