PROBLEM

During a remediation, the patches are copied correctly but did not run from the client machine.

ENVIRONMENT

• GFI LanGuard
• all supported environments

SOLUTION

Perform the following steps on the client machine:

1. Go to Start > Run and type secpol.msc and press Enter.
2. Expand Local Policies.
3. Select User Rights Assignment.
4. Scroll down till “Log on as a Batch Job”.
5. Right-click it and go to Properties.
6. Click Add User or Group.
7. Search for the account used by the GFI LanGuard Attendant Service and add that account.
8. Click Apply and OK.
9. Scroll down till “Log on as a service”.
10. Repeat steps 5 to 8.
11. Close the Local Security Policy.

NOTE: For a network wide issue the above procedure can be configured using Group Policy.

CAUSE

GFI LanGuard does not have the necessary permissions to apply patches.
