Overview

GFI EndPointSecurity fails to encrypt a data drive, producing the following error:

Failed to encrypt device

The system event log may show the following error:

The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable.

Root Cause

The file system structure on the disk is corrupted or otherwise unusable.

Resolution

Execute checkdisk utility on the data drive and repair errors. Reformat or use another data drive, if needed.
